Global Delivery Model
Offshore development is cost-effective, but it is fraught with communication glitches that significantly reduce productivity.
Ignite combines the clarity of communications of onsite delivery with the cost-effectiveness of offshore delivery. Our experienced team bridges the communication gaps that are typical to offshore development. Our onsite and offshore teams have years of experience working together on software development projects. While the majority of the development and testing is done offshore by our skilled teams, your Ignite project manager closely supervises the work to be sure that it meets your expectations.
There are several delivery strategies that can be employed in Software Outsourcing:
- Onsite– In this model, the outsourcing vendor places skilled individuals at your location to perform specific tasks, i.e. requirement gathering, specifications development, implementation, testing, maintenance or the entire project.
- Offsite– In this model, the outsourcing vendor usually has an office close to the customer’s headquarters. The outsourcing vendor bears the cost of office space, computers and materials.
- Offshore – In this model, the entire project is carried out in a different country, generally one with lower labor costs. Preplanned meetings and handover dates replace face-to-face contact.
This model can work very well when the scope of deliverables is very well-defined. However, it lacks flexibility and responsiveness to changes in direction.
- The Hybrid Delivery Model – The hybrid model combines the benefits of onsite and offshore delivery. This model provides BOTH the cost-effectiveness of the offshore model AND the face-to-face contact crucial to preventing communication gaps and ensuring your projects’ success.
